Attitude…and the Slave to Reaction Business Mindset

Emergencies…in business, we can make any issue an emergency.  XYZ just happened…”This is terrible….drop what you’re doing and fix this problem…NOW!”  I’ve worked in business settings wherein virtually 70% of the issues we handled throughout the day were “emergent/have-to-be-fixed-now” issues.  Sure…sometimes you must drop what you’re doing and fix a problem…but, nearly every hour of the day…everyday?  When this mindset takes over, guess what?  You (and your staff) now find yourselves spending only 30% of the business day focused on the REAL work your company is suppossed to be doing.  In a LifeHacker article, Chuck Swindoll addressed how we react to things…see:  attitude  .
